The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska previously operated Casino Omaha, a Class III gaming facility, a racetrack, and a fuel plaza on the Omaha Indian Reservation near Onawa, Iowa. During the summer of 2011, the facilities experienced flooding from the Missouri River, inflicting damage from both river water and ground water. Casino Omaha will need to be rehabilitated. The fuel plaza and racetrack will need to be reconstructed, and the Omaha Tribe is choosing an alternate location for these facilities. FEMA has approved funding for all projects and the funds are ready for draw down upon award of the contract.
